The Monitor Audio Radius 200 benefits from many of the technical advances, materials, and construction techniques found in Monitor’s renowned, top-of-the-line Platinum series speakers. Both of its 4″ woofer cones and 1″ dome tweeter are made of a high-tech ceramic-coated aluminum/magnesium alloy. It makes a great, acoustically matched companion to other members of Monitor’s Radius family of speakers, such as the R90 bookshelves or R270 towers. Though it’s a dynamic performer, its compact cabinet won’t make your room look shabby.

HiVe II Port Design Cuts Down the Turbulence
Straight from Platinum’s design blueprint, the HiVe reflex port makes its Radius debut. It’s shaped to have the same effect on airflow as a gun-barrel on a bullet. Rifled grooves inside the port help to increase the flow and reduce turbulence, so air moves in and out of the port effectively, for a faster more dynamic bass response.

Radius 200 features dual 4″ (100 mm) C-CAM cone bass/mid driver with concave cone profiles, introduced by the top-of-the-range Platinum speakers and applied subsequently to Gold GX. Extensive research and FEA modelling has allowed Monitor Audio to perfect the relationship between the radiating diaphragm and its motor design, introducing larger motor sizes and voice coils for increased excursion, higher power capability and barely perceptible distortion. Also featuring 1″ C-CAM gold dome tweeter which is optimised to pack a punch with the finest and widest performance within the compact Radius cabinets. It benefits from a more efficient rear-venting design, releasing air trapped and compressed at the back of the tweeter dome, and guiding it around the drive assembly to a rear-loading chamber.

Single Through-Bolt Driver Fixing Enhances Clarity and Resolution
Single through-bolt driver fixing provides mechanical decoupling and enhanced mid-band clarity and resolution. The through-bolts also act as rigid cross bracing to give a very sturdy non-resonant cabinet.
