Meticulously designed to extend the bass of the CT8 LR speakers down to 13Hz, the Bowers & Wilkins CT8 SW is a passive in-wall subwoofer with a 15in Rohacell® driver in a 70-litre Matrix-braced enclosure, hassle-free installation and bass that outpaces expectations. Like all the bass drivers in the range it is feature-packed with a rigid composite sandwich cone.

As is evident, one of the secrets of building a high performance bass driver is finding a cone material with high enough strength to keep its shape under the heaviest of strain, yet not too heavy that it loses its responsiveness. B&W’s choice is a modern carbon fibre and rigid foam sandwich construction used in car and aircraft bodies.
